Our client requires a Senior Software Engineer to analyse, develop and test software, using programming languages, tools and standards adopted by the Department. Working with clients, Process Engineers and Hardware Design Engineers to develop systems specifications. To produce modifications to legacy software and configure existing software.Estimating resources required for development and to evaluate implications of changes to systems (e.g. safety and usability). To provide clear and unambiguous documentation of changes for inclusion in software manuals (by a dedicated Technical Author). Archive changes and providing change documentation for use by the Department and other staff, to carry out site visits when appropriate and any other duties as reasonably requested.

Must have a degree in rellevant discipline.
It is essential to have solid experience at an advanced level in C++ under a windows environment and be fully conversant with Borland C++ V4.5 and Borland C++ Builder 2006.
Exposure to PLC programming would also be an advantage and able to work under pressure to deadlines, individually or as a team. Good interpersonal skills, as telephone and inter-departmental support is required. A quick learner who is able to work unsupervised.
