Our client requires a General Machinist,Preferably with CNC / NC Experience

Permanent – Immediate Start

We have an immediate vacancy for a full time General Machinist with NC/CNC experience. Comprehensive training for the right candidate will be given.

Work is varied – mostly small batch, and the customers are demanding, which makes for a challenging and interesting environment.  Company business is expanding – holding long-term orders and gaining new customers.  Investing in new machinery .  Currently based in Newent, but re-locating to Gloucester as soon as suitable premises can be found. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Setting and operating machines to produce parts to engineering drawings / specifications.
• Accurately producing parts to specification & Quality standards in a timely manner (we have in-house inspection facilities)
• Supporting the Production Manager to control the work-flow

Our client is  looking for someone who can bring experience and accuracy to there team.  Ideally someone with initiative – who can help improve what they do.  Certainly pride in your work and be willing to get stuck in is essential.

 full training will be given to get any candidate up to speed with the work.  The company offers competitive rates of pay to suit skills and experience and 21 days holiday p.a.  Working hours are 40 hrs / week (7.30am-4.50 Mon-Thurs, 1.30 finish on Friday).

To date the business has concentrated on small batch work, reflecting the customer requirements (eg spare parts) and the technical capability / capacity.  On the premise that there will always be a need for high quality, small volume work - available quickly

Customers work with this company because of our experience of there parts (& systems), turnaround time and quality / reliability.  For certain customers they arrange a large number of external processes: plating, heat treat, grinding etc.
