Discipline Verifiers will, subject to scope of work, be associated with main engineering discipline areas; Structural, Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Corrosion/Materials, Instruments (Controls & F&G), Process, Piping/Pipelines, Subsea, Well Engineering, etc. This is a contract position for a minimum of year but it is likely to roll on. The initial work is Aberdeen but other prjects will be at other locations, particularly in the Middle-East.
Role:
The role of each Discipline Verifier is, under the day-to-day technical supervision and management of the Team Leader, to – appropriate to each discipline area – carry out and record the findings of independent verification audits, reviews and examinations in accordance with the requirements of the contract Written Schemes.
Experience and qualifications:
· Minimum of 5-10 (Engineer grade to Senior/Lead grade) years experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry including the provision of certification, classification, design appraisal/review, or verification services for project execution and/or operations/maintenance contracts.
· Familiar with integrity assurance/verification of SCE/HSECES codes, standards and legislation associated with international companies and legislative regimes.
· Engineering degree or demonstrated competence and experience for 5 year longer than defined above.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide input to the preparation of a Written Scheme of Verification
- Provide input to the preparation of Written Schemes of Examination relevant to individual Verifier discipline area
- Carry-out IVB activities;
- Provide input to the review and acceptance of the identification of SCE/HSECES and their associated Performance Standards
- Review and examination of design, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning documentation, records and activities
- Examination of the performance of SCE/HSECES equipment and systems on operational asset sites
- Provide input to the planning of all IVB activities within the project execution schedule or operations inspection/maintenance planning – as appropriate
- Prepare reports documenting each verification activity and issue to Team Leader
- Review client responses to verification findings/recommendations
- Provide input to the IVB Findings tracking and close-out management system
- Liaise with and provide reports to the Team Leader in relation to contract progress and status
- Attend internal and external progress and technical clarification meetings as required
- Provide ad hoc support/clarification requests relating to all IVB findings
- Coordinate with the Team Leader regarding scheduling of resources and manning requirements
