Foodservice CAD Operator
Reporting To: Foodservice General Manager
Candidate Profile: An experienced CAD technician with knowledge and experience of
commercial catering facility design and the specification of catering
equipment. Capable of the flexible management of workloads and the
quality control of drawing standards coupled with the effective
administration of the drawing department.
Key Skills & Task Summary
Computer Aided Design
· Competent CAD technician with an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000 or later.
Cad Skills:
· 2D Plan Drawings – Essential
· 2D Isometric Drawings - Desirable
· 3D Modelling – Desirable
· 3D Image Rendering – Desirable
· Use of Externally Referenced Drawings – Essential
· Use of Adobe Acrobat Writer – Essential
· Use of Paper Space Layouts – Essential
· Use of CAD Layer Standards and Templates – Essential
· Use of Drawing Block Attributes & Extraction - Desirable
General Drawing & Design Skills
- Ability to visit site and take accurate site measurements
- Ability to receive a brief from a sales person and interpret the design requirements in order to compile appropriate design schemes and drawing layouts
- Aesthetic production of sales presentation drawings using AutoCAD paper space layouts and JPEG images
- Ability to liaise with appointed architects, consultants and suppliers used for the completion of detailed designs
- Compilation of detailed approval drawings for the production of stainless steel fabrication
- Ability to liaise with Project Managers and Engineers to complete services layouts and as-built drawings
Drawing Office Administration
o Implementation and completion of the drawing register
o Completion of drawing issue sheets when necessary
o Flexible delegation and management of the drawing workload to achieve deadlines
o Responsibility for the compilation and accuracy of the CAD design block library including all hire fleet equipment and modular buildings
o Liaison with core suppliers of catering equipment and modular buildings in order to update the technical literature library
o Desire to maintain and constantly improve drawing and design standards
